Sujesh P. Nambiar
Accounting PhD candidate
On the academic job market for 2019-2020
I am a PhD candidate in Accounting at INSEAD.
My research interest is in the economic role of financial reporting quality and disclosure in financial intermediation, and in bank accounting. My job market paper, “The role of accounting information in banks’ access to funding and liquidity”, is the first to examine how accounting quality of banks affects their ability to access deposit funding and create liquidity. In a related project, I examine the unintended consequences of regulatory changes in the the case of money market funds. I also maintain research interest in the price informativeness in capital markets and in fundamental analysis.
Prior to joining the INSEAD Ph.D. program, I was a consultant with McKinsey & Company with functional expertise in corporate finance and industry expertise in banking. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering.
